About This Model

While this model doesn't account for every factor in an NFL game—such as player skillsets, momentum, or weather conditions—it does consider critical situational elements including field position, score differential, time remaining, and historical success rates. The model uses machine learning algorithms trained on historical NFL play-by-play data to run a 'rest of game' simulation and estimate win probabilities for each decision scenario and recommend the optimal choice.
